The FNDS is a legal entity governed by public law, with personality and legal capacity, endowed with administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy, supervised by the Minister who oversees the area of ​​Aand Rural Development.

The FNDS arises from the global need to adopt sustainable development models that foresees the emergence of multilateral financing funds, in compliance with the new sustainable development objectives (SDG) approved by the UN, with emphasis on climate change;

The FNDS will contribute to the operationalization of strategic Governance objectives from an economic, social and environmental perspective, operating in a flexible, transparent manner and respecting national and international compliance standards.
